Morris Beyda

Morris Beyda has spent the majority of his career synthesizing strategic business and technology objectives to create unique value propositions for clients and affiliates. Throughout his work, Mr. Beyda has displayed a unique aptitude for blending diverse expertise and knowledge into significant strategic and tactical advantages for startups and more established businesses. Currently, Mr. Beyda is the Vice President of Information Technology for Dimension Data (LSE:DDT), a leading technology company that represents a new category of systems integrator providing infrastructure and multi-channel e-business solutions to global corporations. In this role, Mr. Beyda leverages his 10 years of experience in the network services business on strategic planning and implementation of technology initiatives that support over 600 employees and operations generating over $500 million in revenue. Mr. Beyda also remains active in areas beyond IT with work that has included business realignment, post-acquisition restructuring and integration, financial and operational analysis, representation on regional and global teams responsible for Sales Force Automation and e-Procurement, and investor relations.

Mr. Beyda’s entrepreneurial spirit, combined with his strategic consulting experience, has lent itself to his role at Didata in a number of unique capacities. He has worked directly on many of the organizational changes being implemented as Didata moves to increase the percentage of revenues derived from services. Specifically, he helped design the new Professional Services and Solutions Group which is responsible for bringing specific advanced service offerings to clients and liaising between a global strategic development group and local subject matter experts. Operationally, Mr. Beyda is also working on matters involving all aspects of the business from M&A activity, sales, marketing and contract negotiation. He is currently structuring an alliance agreement with a partner offering complementary services, as well as holding accountability for a host of back office reengineering projects.

Prior to joining Dimension Data, Mr. Beyda was co-founder and President of Venture Dynamics, Inc., a venture accelerator and advisory firm that provided guidance and relationships to Internet and information technology-related startups. While there, Mr. Beyda personally advised several New York startups, most notably Billy Smith Hockey, Tracer Imaging, ePhotos, and Greenbutton, on a range of topics encompassing strategy, finance, technology and general operations. His efforts led him to become the Director of Technology for a national golf technology venture, SwingCam, Inc., where he worked to design strategy and implementation plans for a new system platform. While there, Mr. Beyda was also heavily involved in Internet strategy and development, financial forecasting, customer support and national deployment and service of their PC-based video recording and analysis systems. Mr. Beyda has also served as Chief Operating Officer of InternetCash.com, a venture-backed startup offering prepaid, stored-value products for use on the Internet. While there, he provided guidance on business, technical and financial strategy, and established day-to-day operations. He also played a key role in legal and regulatory analysis and decisions, as well as in the venture capital fund raising process.

Mr. Beyda began his career with Arthur Andersen’s Business Consulting Group and focused on developing some of their very first Internet consulting services. In addition, he worked on many strategic consulting projects, including merger integrations and process reengineering initiatives for clients like Bristol Myers-Squibb. Mr. Beyda then joined Integrated Systems Group, a large New York technology firm, and started Quorum, their strategic consulting division. Quorum specialized in designing strategies for middle-market companies in the areas of electronic business, human resources and operations. His clients there included Rainbow Media, a division of Cablevision, SIAC, Data Device Corp, and the Legal Aid Society and the Episcopal Church.

Mr. Beyda has been nationally recognized for his skills in both business and Internet consulting, highlighted by his speaking engagements at the Wharton School for both the Management Department and the American Marketing Association, his appearances on CNNfn and Bloomberg TV, as well as in his leadership roles in various industry groups. Through his extensive consulting work, Mr. Beyda continues to advise early-stage ventures on business and technical matters, and remains active in the New York startup community. Mr. Beyda attended the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, concentrating in Entrepreneurial Management and Finance.
